Education provision
Elysian provides animal assisted therapeutic learning. We are a registered secondary education setting for children and young people aged 11 to 17 with SEN who need something that a mainstream or conventional special school placement has not been able to offer them.
It combines structured learning with the Elysian Approach.
The Elysian Approach is animal assisted, individualised, and led by what each young person actually needs rather than a fixed timetable applied uniformly. Our animals and the outdoor environment are woven into all aspects of learning at Elysian.
All three Elysian sites, Shamley Green, West Horsley, and Liss and Froxfield, provide therapeutic education and learning. Each has its own registration and its own character. See Our sites for what makes each one distinctive.
Education placements are funded and arranged through a local authority as part of an education, health and care plan. Commissioners can find the full referral process, the documentation required and the two-week response commitment on the Refer or enquire page.
