Introduction to Animal Assisted Intervention

Animal Assisted Intervention (AAI) is becoming increasingly popular across the UK and worldwide as we are recognising the positive impact regular animal interaction has on our overall wellbeing and emotional resilience to navigate the challenges of our day to day lives.

Who is the Course For?

The course is for anyone who wishes to learn more about Animal Assisted Interventions. Animal Assisted Interventions adds creative and innovative ways to support those around us and those we work with professionally. If you are passionate about animals, and passionate about exploring different ways to support people, then this is the ideal combination of your passions. The course is suitable for anyone over 18, who loves animals. This course is also the Introduction course which is a pre-requisite to the other courses Elysian provide.

What will you learn?

The course will be held at an Animal Assisted Therapy farm, and participants will experience each of the animals as part of learning the benefits they serve in various interventions with children and adults with different needs. This introductory course allows participants to explore and experience a taster of its benefits, while also learning about the history, research and theory that underpins AAI.

You will have an opportunity to partake in a few therapeutic experiential exercises with animals, including equines on the farm.

The next dates are:

22nd July (Shamley Green)

4th September (Shamley Green)

15th October (Liss)
