Elysian Summer camps!
9-12 year olds
Keeping children occupied and happy during the holidays is tough. Here at Elysian we can offer fun and excitement with activities and staff that can entertain them. That’s why summer activities at Elysian differ to any other holiday activity scheme. Being on a farm we have lots of animals that will need looking after including feeding and cuddles. All of the sessions are animal orientated and are planned to take place outside.
We have a fantastic programme with a wide range of activities that can truly claim to offer something for every child such as animal-based activities, nature, arts and crafts.
These activities have been chosen to encourage team building and help improve confidence and self-esteem. If you want to enjoy the great outdoors experience, then Elysian camp is for you!!
We have loved planning these and we are very confident every person that comes to any of our camps will love it!
These camps focus on increasing confidence whilst having fun and learning new skills.
Suitable for those who:
- Love animals
- Love being outside
- Want to meet new friends
- Want to learn more about animal care
- Want to have fun with different activities on the farm and with the animals!
The camps are centred around different fun learning and play activities, and each day has a different activity and set of activities. Children and young people are always given some choice and the activities are inclusive and varied. Depending on needs, ages, wishes and requests, we sometimes divide the children and young people in groups for different activities. The camp is led by 2 members of staff.
Every session has a varied activity programme suitable for that age group/level of need, which may include:
- Arrive and sit together around a table with small animals while we talk through the plan, activities and choices and any health and safety information and instructions.
- Where appropriate we do some team building activities to break the ice and learn each other’s names and choosing activities for the session.
- Feeding animals across the farm
- The group will always have at least one chosen activity, and these vary from arts & crafts to nature trail, to specific animal focussed activities from walking goats to grooming donkeys (please do let us know if you have any special requests!)
- Morning session begins with feeding animals and the afternoon sessions end with feeding animals
The programmes are tailored to the groups ages, abilities and needs. The groups are lead by staff with and expertise in working therapeutically with children, young people, with a range of needs. The camps overall aim is to increase confidence through appropriately challenging yet enjoyable activities. Children and young people wishing to take part in this camp, must be able to attend without an accompanying adult and work with practical tasks, following instructions, within a group environment.
Facilitated by fully vetted staff with enhanced DBSs.
Please do not bring any animals on site, or food and drink (due to health and safety regulations).
When you arrive at Elysian, you will see a car park. Park inside the car park, and the staff at Elysian will meet you at the gate at the event start time. They will then take you to the hand wash to wash your hands before the sessions starts, which is the same place the sessions ends. Please note when booking your session that we may need to cancel the session if attendance is going to be low. Please also ensure you complete the booking by selecting the Paypal button to complete the payment.
Please dress for the farm where it can get quite muddy. Make sure you have the following with you: waterproofs, wellie boots or walking boots and a sunhat as you never know what the British weather is going to do!
We welcome children and young people with SEN and any additional needs, however, children attending this camp must be able to manage to participate and engage in a group setting without additional support, including following instructions and maintain safe and appropriate behaviours on the farm. Any children who struggle to engage with the session or behave safely on the farm may not be able to continue the sessions, and parent/carers may be contacted for early pick up or discontinue sessions.
If your child has any particular needs we need to be aware of, that can help us shape and adapt the session to suit their needs, please make sure you tell us on the booking form.
Refunds may be possible if sessions are cancelled up to 2 days before the event. The system will not automatically send you a confirmation email, but if you have paid via paypal, we have your booking!
We look forward to seeing you soon!
